cozy mystery, reading challenge

#CozyFrolic2026 Reading Challenge

Calling all cozy mystery lovers!

While I’ve done many Reading Challenges in the past, it was always something I just set for myself or I joined someone else’s Challenge. But my goal for 2026 is to grow this blog and my Bookstagram in new ways, so for the first time, I’m HOSTING a Reading Challenge and I would LOVE for you all to join me! Read on for more details!

In 2026, join me in reading 26 cozy mysteries—one for each letter of the alphabet, represented by an author whose last name starts with that letter.

Track your progress by downloading the Reading Challenge Template(s) below (I’ve created templates for instagram and one for printing so choose the one that works best for you!

Throughout the year I’ll be posting updates, sharing reader posts, and suggesting authors for the Challenge. Since this is my first time hosting, if you have any ideas to make this even more fun or interesting (a group chat? a giveaway? a Discord channel? different templates?)

Use #CozyFrolic2026 and tag me (@bookfrolic) on Instagram so I can see what you’re reading and share your posts!

#CozyFrolic2026 CHALLENGE GUIDELINES

  • One book per letter of the alphabet
  • The author’s last name determines the letter (Example: Agatha Christie = C)
  • Books must fall under the cozy mystery genre
  • Any format counts: physical books, ebooks, or audiobooks
  • Re-reads are allowed (or go all-new if you want an extra challenge)
  • Tricky letters (Q, X, Z) can be flexible—as long as the letter is somewhere in the first OR last name of the author, it’s accepted!
  • It’s up to you the order that you choose your books – work your way through the alphabet in order, or jump from letter to letter!
