HOW ARE YOU INVOLVED WITH THE COZY MYSTERY COMMUNITY?
I run the page @readingwithmrsleaf on Instagram. In addition I try to cross post my content on my Facebook page of the same name & my blog, but am not very consistent on the later 2.
TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF AND YOUR BUSINESS/WORK.
Hi! I’m Lori and live in Montana with my husband and our dog Boscoe. I love living in the mountains and you can often see Montana backgrounds in my posts on Instagram.
LIST THREE FUN FACTS ABOUT YOURSELF THAT WE WOULDN’T READ IN YOUR ‘OFFICIAL’ BIO.
- I lived and worked in Yellowstone National Park for 20 years.
- I have ran 8 half marathons.
- If I’m not reading you can find me out hiking, drawing in my sketchbook or at the studio on the pottery wheel.
WHAT IS A TYPICAL DAY LIKE FOR YOU?
Mornings with the dog (walk, meds & breakfast), off to work where I usually have an audiobook in my ear. After work it’s time for the gym or art studio followed by home to make dinner and then relax on the couch for tv and reading.
DO YOU DO THIS FULL-TIME, PART-TIME, OR IS IT A SIDE-HOBBY?
This is a side hobby.
WHY DO YOU CHOOSE TO FOCUS ON COZY MYSTERIES?
Cozy mysteries are my favorite genre to read! I read a variety of genres but always come back to cozies. They are a wonderful mix of mysteries & small town romances. I love following along with the communities built in series.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT BEING INVOLVED IN THE COZY MYSTERY COMMUNITY?
It is the most welcoming, friendliest community, from authors to other readers. The community is also so supportive, and many have become friends beyond the books we love and recommend to each other.
WHO ARE SOME OF YOUR FAVOURITE COZY MYSTERY AUTHORS?
This is an almost impossible question to answer! Some favorites are Korina Moss, Kate Lansing, Frank Anthony Polito, Nancy Basille, Christina Romeril and Julie Ann Lindsay.
WHY DO YOU THINK PEOPLE LOVE TO READ COZY MYSTERIES?
I think its because they are a great escape with little on page violence, a hint of romance and wonderful, small communities we’d all to be a part of.
IF YOU WERE MAROONED ON A DESERTED ISLAND, WHAT 3 BOOKS WOULD YOU WANT WITH YOU?
Right now my choices would be Legends & Lattes, Fourth Wing & Cheddar off Dead.
DO YOU HAVE ANY PROJECTS COMING UP THAT YOU’D LIKE TO SHARE WITH US?
Stay tuned for 2024 where I have a few collaborations coming up and plan to be focussing more on my YouTube channel and blog. I just have so much more to say about the books I read than I can in an Instagram post.
