Monthly recap: December 2019

book frolic monthly recap December 2019

I took it pretty easy in December – there was so much happening with the holidays that I really didn’t stress about reading, reviewing or blogging. The one thing I did learn is that once I stopped worrying about hitting my goals or reviewing books… I really had some great fun reading and just enjoying my books.

As I said, I just relaxed in December and didn’t stress about my reading goals and guess what? I managed to hit my Goodreads goal of 60 books in 2019! I actually had several months where I didn’t think I was going to make it.

I’m not sure why I was stressing so much about a number I arbitrarily made up for myself! The odd thing is that for some reason I set my goal higher this year. For the past several years, my annual goal has always been to read 50 books. For some reason I set it to 60 this year (probably because I was working full-time from home and thought I’d get more reading done – HAHAHA). So lesson learned – I’ll probably drop it back down to 50 for 2020.

Here are the books I read in December:

I know that I should probably also do a wrap-up for the year, but since my 1-year blog anniversary is coming up in a couple of weeks, I’ll most likely leave my year-wrap up post until then.

I have some fun things planned for this year (including a new cozy mystery challenge) plus some giveaways to celebrate my one-year of blogging so stay tuned for that!

Thanks for stopping by and happy reading in 2020!

  1. I didn’t hit my yearly reading goal either (I was only 1 book away but, I felt rushed to try to beat it). So this year, I set my goal to roughly half of what last years was, due to this year being extremely busy and also not knowing where this year will take me. Loved this wrap-up!

I never know why I feel such pressure to meet a reading goal that I set for myself! LOL. Good luck with your 2020 Reading Goals!
